Booking & Planning

How can I see your work?

Follow GUSTIME on Instagram for recent wedding and event highlights. Full performance footage, sample set ideas and references from past clients are also available on request.

How far in advance should we book?

Popular wedding and event dates can book out months ahead, especially during spring, summer and peak Adelaide wedding season. If you already know your date and venue, it is best to enquire early so availability can be held while the details are confirmed.

What happens after we send an enquiry?

Gus will review your date, location, event type and the atmosphere you want to create. If the date is available, you will receive a tailored reply with next steps, package guidance and any questions needed to shape the performance around your event.

Do you offer customisable packages?

Yes. Every event has a different rhythm, so the performance can be shaped around your ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, private party or corporate schedule. You can keep things simple with a focused live sax set or build a fuller sax and DJ experience.

Sound & Logistics

Do you provide audio equipment?

Yes. Gus arrives with professional PA equipment, speakers and cabling suitable for most venues and events of up to approximately 200 guests. Larger spaces can be planned with your venue or AV team.

Do you provide a microphone for speeches?

Yes, a microphone can be provided for speeches or announcements when it is part of the planned setup. Some venues prefer performers to use the in-house system, and Gus is happy to coordinate with the venue if that is the better option.

What if the ceremony or cocktail hour location has no power?

Outdoor and private-property locations are common, and the best setup depends on the distance, coverage area and access conditions. Let Gus know early if power is limited so a suitable battery-powered or venue-supported solution can be planned.

How long do you need to set up?

Setup time depends on the package, access and whether the event needs one or multiple performance areas. As a guide, allow at least 60–90 minutes before performance time for arrival, setup and sound check.

Music & Performance

What music styles do you play?

Sets can move from smooth jazz, soul and bossa nova to pop, R&B, funk, house and electronic music. Every performance is tailored to the event and the energy in the room.

Can you learn a special song?

Yes. Share the song and the moment you have in mind during planning so Gus can confirm the arrangement and build it into your performance.

Can we choose songs for key moments?

Absolutely. For weddings and special moments, you can nominate songs for entrances, aisle walks, signing, exits, first dances or surprise moments. Gus can also suggest options if you know the feeling you want but not the exact track.

How do DJ song requests work?

Before the event, you can share must-play songs, favourite genres and any do-not-play tracks. The goal is to honour your taste while still reading the room so the music flows naturally and keeps the right energy throughout the night.

Do you play music during breaks?

Yes. Break music can be planned so there is no awkward silence between live sets. Depending on the package, this may be a curated playlist, background music through the PA or a DJ-style transition that keeps the atmosphere consistent.

Weddings

Do you play ceremony, cocktail hour and reception music?

Yes. GUSTIME can support a single moment or multiple parts of the day. Ceremony music is usually more intentional and timed, cocktail hour is relaxed and social, and reception sets can build toward a more energetic sax and DJ experience.

Can saxophone work with a DJ at our wedding?

Definitely. Live sax over DJ tracks is one of the most effective ways to lift a reception or dance floor. It adds the spontaneity and visual impact of live performance while keeping the range and momentum of a DJ set.

What if we do not know exactly what songs we want?

That is completely fine. You can start with the mood: elegant, romantic, soulful, upbeat, modern, nostalgic or party-focused. From there, Gus can guide the song choices and shape the set around your guests and the flow of the event.

Travel & Venues

Are interstate bookings available?

Absolutely. GUSTIME is based in Adelaide and travels throughout Australia. Travel and accommodation are quoted transparently once the location, timing and performance requirements are confirmed.

Corporate & Private Events

Can you perform with other artists?

Yes. Gus regularly collaborates with singers, percussionists, guitarists, DJs and full bands, and can coordinate with your chosen performers.

Can you match a corporate event or brand vibe?

Yes. Corporate events often need a different kind of polish, from sophisticated background music to high-impact moments for arrivals, awards or after-parties. Gus can tailor the sound, presentation and energy to suit the brand and audience.

Payments & Policies

Is a deposit required to confirm a booking?

Yes. A booking fee is required to secure the date. Once the package and details are agreed, you will receive confirmation and payment details so the date can be locked in.
